Suspect Charged With Threats Against Law Enforcement

This morning (January 2, 2019), the Covington Police Department was notified by the St Tammany
Parish Sheriff’s Office that Harlan Cyprian of Covington had made threats against law enforcement on social media. In his Facebook post, Cyprian designated January 2, 2019, as “Kill Cops Day…” The threat also targeted a long-time and high-ranking CPD officer.

Cyprian was arrested at his Covington residence. He was also identified as the suspect who used a pickaxe to break a window and door at the St Tammany Parish Justice Center on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 8:30 pm.

Cyprian was charged with Terrorizing, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence.
