November 30, 1947 - January 27, 2019
Elise Gail Fernandez Simone, age 71 and of Angie, Louisiana, passed peacefully on January 27, 2019 at home after a long and valiant struggle with Alzheimer's. Elise was born November 30, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite Fernandez. Elise had many interests including gardening, fishing, music, dancing, animals and trips on the back of her soul mate's motorcycle. Elise's true passion, though, was her family. She was known for her compassionate spirit, selflessness and infectious smile.
Elise is survived by her husband, Frank Simone Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Shaw; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Nicole Hutson Simone; granddaughters Tiffany and Samantha; grandsons, Michael and Benjamin; great-granddaughter, McKinley; great-grandsons, Jaxson and Keegan; brothers, Glenn and Joe; and sister Jeanie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marguerite Fernandez; brother Lorenzo (Butch) and sister Delores.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 5:00 pm until the Memorial Service begins at 6:30 pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Louisiana 70401.
