Ray Herbert Breland
July 12, 1923 - November 9, 2018



Ray Herbert Breland a resident of Angie passed away peacefully at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton on November 9, 2018 at the age of 95.

Born July 12, 1923 to the late Smiley Breland and Martha Branch Breland he was the older of two siblings. After graduating from Pine High School, he worked in the pulpwood industry until 1947. In 1947 he was employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Bogalusa, Louisiana where he remained until his retirement. He married his beloved wife, the late Inez Crain in 1944. Ray spent much of his retirement time growing gardens until health problems prevented his ability to do so. He was a life-long resident of Washington Parish and a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church where he was an active member for many years. Ray loved listening to and watching LSU football and baseball and the New Orleans Saints.

He is survived by a son, Dale Kendall Breland and wife Betty Slade Breland; two grandsons, Kelton Breland and wife Patsy Williams Breland; Cody Breland and wife Amber Barnes Breland; and one granddaughter Camilla Breland and fiancé Raymond Smith. He was also survived by his great grandchildren Kyle Breland and wife Katie Breland; Kallie Breland, Jordyn Breland, Breanna Breland, Jase Breland, Amber Freeman and husband Russell Freeman, and Kobie Payne. He also left behind his great-great grandchildren, Kylie Breland, Kamen Breland, Paisley Freeman and Anisley Freeman.

He was also preceded in death by his son Kenneth Ray Breland, sister Marcelle McKenzie and daughter in law Keitha James Breland.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday November 11 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Eld. Lerand Hunt and Eld. Mark Hobgood officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Baptist Church Cemetery in Angie.

Pallbearers will be Kelton Breland, Kyle Breland, Cody Breland, Kobie Payne, Daniel Murray, and Johnny Crain Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert McKenzie, Robert Branch, and Randy Branch.
