Danny Ray Givens 
July 31, 1946 – November 6, 2018



Danny Ray Givens, born July 31, 1946, died at his home in Mount Hermon, Louisiana on November 6, 2018. He was raised in the Spring Creek area of Tangipahoa Parish, where he graduated high school. He moved to Mount Hermon in 1985. He was a retired dairy farmer, the owner of Givens Pools since 1972, and co-owner of Silver Creek Campground since 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ozzie Travis Givens, two sons and daughters-in-laws, and one daughter and son-in-law. His sons are Tommy Ray Givens married to Shellie, and Jody Gene Givens married to Delilah, who are children of his marriage to Sandra Butler. His daughter is Yancey Renee Givens-Britt, who he adopted after his marriage to Ozzie. Renee is married to Cody Britt. He is also survived by one sister, Eugenia Givens Brown, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Audice Eugene Givens, his mother, Lelia Cecile White Givens, two sisters Patsy McCarthy and Lenora Blades, and his brother, Darwin Givens.

Riverwood Family Funeral Services in Brookhaven, Mississippi is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete at this time.

Pallbearers are Darin Givens, Pat Alford, Carson Travis, Steve Travis, Ramsey Williams, and John Mord. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Melancon, Craig Travis, and Ross Travis.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, North Oaks Health System, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Ochsner Health System, St. Helena Parish Hospital, and Eagan Home Health.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated St. Joseph Hospice, 1010 C.M. Fagan Drive, Suite 100, Hammond, La 70403 for memorial contributions.
