Drugs and Weapons Found in Bogalusa Residence

On November 1, Detectives with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force arrested
Jonathan M. Brown (29), a resident of Warren Street in Bogalusa. The arrest came after information of illegal drugs at the residence and the issuance of a search warrant.

When detectives arrived at the house along with a Louisiana Probation and Parole agent, they encountered Deshontaire Foster on the front porch and in possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was later issued a misdemeanor summons for possession of the marijuana.

Jonathan Brown came out of the residence and Foster then ran inside the residence, closing and locking the door behind her. Brown then attempted to block the officers from the door. Detectives forced their way into the house and began to search, discovering heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, a .380 semi-automatic pistol and a .9mm semi-automatic pistol. Brown admitted the drugs and weapons were his.

Brown was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance present, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice.

Sheriff Randy Seal commented. “A combination of illegal drugs and illegal weapons are a recipe for potential disaster. We will never know what might have been prevented by this search, seizure and arrest. Our drug task force is to be commended for removing illegal drugs and one more drug dealer from our community.”
