Dorothy T. Smith passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs, LA. She was 94 years old. She was born on January 13, 1924 in Marion County Mississippi.
Dorothy was a long-time resident of Denham Springs, LA. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and wife. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her daughter, Judy Cavin of Denham Springs, LA; one son Jerry Smith of Bogalusa, LA; her brother J.B. Langston of Carriere, MS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Sedgie Smith; her parents, Kelly Turnage and Hilma Pittman; three sisters; her daughter, Peggy S. Johnson Jenkins; and grandson, Joey L. Smith.
A celebration of life for Dorothy T. Smith will be on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in the chapel at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA. The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will continue until funeral service begins at 3:00 P.M. Rev. Chad Jenkins will officiate. Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Miller, Kevin Smith, Payton Smith, and Bobby Schilling.
