Joanna Graves Duncan, age 84 and a resident of Mt. Hermon, passed from this life on Saturday October 27, 2018. She was born in Lexie, Mississippi on August 16, 1934 to the late Delton Graves and Daisy Morris Graves. Joanna was born with the proverbial “green thumb” as she always loved flower and vegetable gardening. She had greenhouses on her property that contained countless plants and flowers and she even grew several varieties of fruit trees. Joanna liked to sew as well as make arts and crafts. She sold her crafts at the Washington Parish Fair for many, many years. Joanna attended the former Emmanuel Church in Franklinton.
Survived by: 3 Daughters and a Son in law: Carolyn Kincaid of Hamilton, Ohio, Jackie Shroeder of Kentucky, Barbara and Virgil Ezernack of Zwolle, LA; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Buck and Glenda Duncan of Tangipahoa, Ronald Duncan of Mt. Hermon; 15 Grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; Sister and Brother in law: Naomi and Jim Jones of Gulfport, MS; Also a host of nieces, nephews and friends
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Elwood E. Duncan, sons Matthew J. Duncan and recently Glen E. Duncan, brothers Paul D. Graves and Sam Graves.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday November 3rd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Bro. Calvin Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan/Maples Cemetery near Mt. Hermon.
