Obituary

Harold Campbell, Jr.
July 1, 1957 - October 3, 2018

Harold William Joseph Campbell, Jr., age 61 and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died Wednesday morning October 3, 2018 at his home. At some point in our lives, we question our purpose. To us, Harold’s purpose was no mystery. He taught us how to love. Through his example, our lives are better lived. We learned that hard work and open arms will pay off in the end.

He was a native of New Orleans, former resident of St. Tammany Parish and had lived in Mt. Hermon since 2003. Harold was a Master Carpenter by trade and was well known for doing pristine work. He had been involved with the remodeling of many historic houses throughout the French Quarter and was known to make exquisite crown molding over doorways and other areas of hotels or businesses. He could build just about any gorgeous item because he always loved his woodworking. Recently, Harold worked alongside his son for Passman’s EVT Services as a fire department equipment tester. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Covington, a former member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where he proudly taught the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday school class for many years and rang the call-to-worship bell. Harold was a current member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton and recently had attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church near his home. When not working, he enjoyed camping in the RV, fishing and taking care of his animals. Harold was also talented when arranging his favorite beautiful flowers. He was always a loving husband and father and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
