Tessie S. Lewis
May 19, 1924 - October 11, 2018



Final arrangements have been made for the late Sis. Tessie Lewis.  A public viewing is Tuesday, October 23, at 2-6 PM with a family hour at 6-7 PM at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mary's Chapel United Methodist Church, (Varnado) Angie, LA 70427.

On Thursday Oct 11, 2018 at 3:25 A.M. God sent an angel of death to receive one of his own, Tressie Lewis to himself entering her into eternal rest. Tessie Speights Moses Lewis was born May 19, 1924 to the late Archie and Candasie Speights.

"Mama Tessie" as she was affectionately known and called by so many, loved God and family.  She united at an early age with the Mary's Chapel United Methodist Church.  She was active in many capacities and remained faithful until her health declined.

Sis. Tessie Lewis was an only child, but she was not a lonely child.  While she was very young, her mother accepted the responsibility of rearing three of her first cousins, Luberta (Pat) Daniels Robinson and a set of twins, Effie and Jessie Spikes

Sis. Tessie Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Candasie Speights, her husbands, Nolan Moses and Emanuel Lewis, Her son, John L. Lewis, daughter, Esther Lee “ Olla Mae" Moses Harry Williams Robinson, First cousins: Luberta Robinson, Effie and Jessie Spikes, sons-in-law; Hershel Nichols, J. W. "Coot" Williams, Pastor David Lee Dillon Sr, Arnold Lee Harry, Sr, grandsons; Earl Byron Robinson, Sr; great grandson Brandon Alexander, and special friends; Ms. Armelia Moses, Mrs. Rovella Thompson and Mrs. Hazel Peters.
