Obituary

Freida Walker Smith
May 21, 1917 - October 11, 2018



Freida Walker Smith, age 101 and a resident of Hendersonville, TN, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday October 11, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born May 21, 1917 in Kokomo, MS to the late Fleet Walker and Jewett Allen Walker. Freida was a former longtime resident of the Hays Creek Community where she was a member of Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church. After moving to Hendersonville, she attended Sunday school and was in the Ambassador Choir at First Baptist Church. Freida loved to read mystery novels, played the piano, enjoyed bus trips and kept her hands busy with crochet and embroidery projects. She was always very proud to be the wife of a dairy farmer and she loved her family dearly.

Survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Larry and Maureen Smith; Daughter and Son in law: Carolyn and Bob White; Daughter in law: Marie Smith; Grandchildren: Laureida Dooley, Terri Mulhearn, Sherri Molen, Jeffrey Smith, Gergory Smith, Dina Schnurman; Great-grandchildren: Doug “Bubba” Dooley, Stephanie Fisher, Jessica Pawling, Tyler Molen, Caleb Smith, Lily Schnurman, Nathaniel Schnurman, Michelle Mulhearn, Carlee Mulhearn; Great-great-granddaughter: Rayna Fisher

She was also preceded in death by her husband Nathan J. Smith, sons Otto Smith, Jerry L. Smith, great-granddaughters Rachel Molen, Rebekah Molen and brother Winton Walker.

Visitation will be at Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church (29028 White Hays Creek Road, Franklinton, LA) on Monday October 15th from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Monday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
