Karen Galloway Cockrell, a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away Wednesday morning at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA at the age of 68. She enjoyed spending time at her property in the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years, James Cockrell of Bogalusa, LA; her son, James (Stacey) Cockrell II of Bogalusa, LA; her daughter, Karren (Joe) Boone of Bogalusa, LA; her brother, Elwyn Galloway of Tylertown, MS. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Katelyn (Zane) Jacob, Kaleb Boone, Kaden Boone, Paige Cockrell, Sarah Cockrell, Clayton Hobbs, Patrick (Brittany) Albers, Tiffani Thomas, and Adam Economu.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roland Galloway; her mother, Jewell Miller Cheatham; and sister, Sharen Galloway.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA. Visitation will continue until funeral service begins at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Jimmy Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA.
