Obituary

Louis A. Jones, Sr.
September 15, 1923 - October 7, 2018



Louis Amison Jones, Sr., age 95 and a former longtime resident of the Enon Community, died at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, MS on Sunday morning October 7, 2018. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War before later serving many years as a recruiter for the U.S. Army. Louis joined the military shortly after graduating from Enon High School. He liked to spend time in the outdoors and made a garden each year in his early life. Louis was a kind-hearted person that loved to joke around and pick at those he knew. He never met a stranger as he enjoyed getting to know the people he met. He loved spending time with his family.

Survived by: Daughter: Debbie Jones of Pensacola, FL; Grandchildren and Spouses: Kerry Louis Craig and Melissa Craig of Tucson, AZ where he is currently serving in the United States Air Force, Matthew and Chelsea Jones of Covington, LA, Clare Marie Jones, Anne Marie Jones both of Franklinton; Great-grandchildren: Brandon Hutson, Jasmyn Hutson, Isabel Craig, Elizabeth Craig; Daughter in law: Jeanne Jones of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Annette Russo Jones, son Louis A. Jones, Jr., grandson Brandon Wesley Craig, parents Henry Jones and Lenora Sharp Jones, sister Joyce Pittman, brothers Alfred Jones, Shelby Jones, Kelly Jones and Huey Jones.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday October 11th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm Thursday with Rev. David Maxwell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
