Burglary Suspects Wanted by WPSO and TPSO in Jail

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of two burglary suspects: Daniel Chappetta (44) of Picayune and Ashley Castle (28) of Loranger. Sheriff Edwards credits a Crime Stopper tip for the arrests.

The investigation began in August 2018 of a string of burglaries and thefts in the Amite and Loranger areas. Chappetta and Castle were identified as possible suspects. Detectives also learned that both subjects had active warrants from Washington Parish and were wanted for questioning on several other cases.

As the investigation continued, detectives were able to connect the duo to another burglary that occurred on September 24, 2018, next to an abandoned residence on Snowcreek Road in Tangipahoa Parish. While investigating the burglary, Detectives located multiple items of stolen property in the abandoned residence next to where the Snowcreek Road burglary occurred. It is believed that the couple was using the abandoned residence as shelter.

On September 26, 2018, Detectives learned that Ashley and Daniel were spotted on Million Dollar Road in the Covington area. With the assistance of St.Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office,  the two were located and arrested as they were parked in the driveway and trespassing at a residence on Million Dollar Road. A search warrant was obtained, executed on their vehicle, and most of the items stolen from the Tangipahoa Parish burglaries were recovered.

Chappetta and Castle are currently in the St. Tammany Parish jail facing numerous charges in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parish.
