Jesse "Jack" Gibson
February 13, 1933 - September 10, 2018



Jesse Bishop "Jack" Gibson, age 85 and a resident of Franklinton died Monday night September 10, 2018 at his home. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army Airborne during the Korean War Era. Jack was the former owner/operator of Tidelands Seafood Company, Inc. and later was owner of Desiderata Ranch, Inc. Jack loved tending to his beef cattle and the hard work it took managing the land in order to have a successful ranch.

Survived by: Wife: Marilyn S. Gibson of Franklinton; Son and Daughter in law: Alan Andrew Gibson and Jennifer Gibson of Houma; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Eve Ellen Wegler and Michael Wegler of Huntsville, AL, Ann Aubin Gibson of Crested Butte, CO; 4 Grandchildren: Jesse Gibson, Karl Wegler, Kate Wegler, Kyle Wegler; Also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee J. Gibson and Taphenia Jenkins Gibson, brothers Gordon Gibson, Harold Gibson, Howard Gibson, Alfred Gibson, John Gibson, sisters Hazel Pellegrin, Faye Galloway, Sarah Nell Williams, Evelyn Beghtol, Geraldine Passman.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday September 15th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Dr. Gene Richards and Rev. Tom Descant officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
