Grand Jury Indictments Announced by D. A. Montgomery

District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports (September 20, 2018) the following grand jury indictments:

• Wayne Howard Conley, Jr. (28) of Franklinton of first degree rape of a victim under 13.  Conley is accused of orally raping a 6-year-old girl at her home in Bush on July 18, 2017.

• Cameron Alphonso (21) of Slidell and Blaine Beyer Manalle (20) Slidell of second degree murder in the death of Jeffery Howell (46) of Pearl River. Howell, who had recently made it through surgery to remove a brain tumor, died of blunt force trauma to the head after a fight along the West Pearl River in June, 2018.

• Kenya Despenza (39) of Slidell of second degree murder in the death of her aunt in late July, 2018. Despenza is accused of fatally stabbing Dianne Bercy, her mother’s sister, at the victim’s home in Slidell. Despensza was living with the victim at the time.

• Nathan Stokes (39) of Covington, a former deputy for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, on charges of malfeasance and theft under $750. Stokes is accused of stealing a Taser from the Sheriff’s Office and reselling it.
