Fire Chief Reports Stats and on Response Problems

Franklinton Fire Department Chief Dustin Wascom provided his monthly report to the Franklinton Board of Aldermen Tuesday evening (September 25, 2018). Wascom also described a manpower problem. He said that their call volume is increasing but help is dwindling.

Although he has 25 volunteer firemen, only eight to ten are active. Of those eight to ten, only two or three may actually respond to a call. Wascom made some harsh observations as to why some did not respond and said that certified letters will be going out asking for the return of equipment.
