Joe Lewis Pigott
August 15, 1940 - August 02, 2018



God saw that the road was getting rough and the hills were getting hard to climb and he gently closed his eyes and whispered peace be thine.  The weary hours are gone; the sleepless nights are passed away; he has found peace and sweet rest at last.
Joe Lewis Pigott was born August 15, 1940 in Franklinton, LA to the late Henry and Eulice Butler Pigott.  He departed this life on August 2, 2018 at PAM Specialty Hospital of Covington.
He joined the Water Valley COGIC at an early age.  He was the superintendent of Sunday School and played the drum.
Joe Pigott graduated from Washington Parish High School in May 1959, then enlisted in the United States Army.
He was united in holy matrimony to Janice Peters in 1966. To this union one son was born, Henry A. Pigott.
Joe L. Pigott was a very proficient husband and father.  He always gave of himself and believed in sharing.
He was a member of Wisdom  Lodge 123, Knights Of Columbus, Coney Flower Post American Legion, Bogalusa,LA and President of Club Tomorrow.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 52 years; Janice P. Pigott of Bogalusa, LA; one son, Henry Anthony Pigott of Bogalusa, LA; one god daughter, Judonya (Cookie) Moss; one sister; Vander Marie Jordan of Franklinton, LA; sister-in-laws; Rose Martin Pigott, Barbara R. Williams, Shirley Peters, and Rose Rayford.  A special nephew and niece; Henry (Man) Rayford and Delores P. Walker.
Joe L. Pigott was preceded in death by his father Henry Pigott, mother, Eulice Pigott, Brother Henry (Willie) Pigott, sister Ora Dee Bickham, brother-in-laws; Albert J. Peters, Alvin Bickham, and Phillip Jordan, sister-in-law, Annie Rose Smith.
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, followed by a Family Gathering from 6 pm to 7 pm. The Funeral will be at 1 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Bogalusa.
