Vester LoDee Greer
August 26, 1934 - August 05, 2018



Vester LoDee Greer, age 83 and a of Mount Hermon, Louisiana passed away peacefully at home on August 5th, 2018. LoDee was born August 26, 1934 in Ashland, Louisiana to David Ardell Kerbow and Maggie Mae Grigg Kerbow.
LoDee was married to the late Glenn Napoleon Greer on September 26, 1954 in Coushatta, LA in the little “White Block Church” on Ashland Road.
LoDee was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn N. Greer; her parents, David Ardell Kerbow and Maggie Mae Grigg Kerbow; her brother and sister-in-law, Guindal and Betty Jean Kerbow; and her brother, Floyd Kerbow.
LoDee is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Betty Kerbow of Port Charlotte, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Alfred “Tiny” and Sylvia Kerbow of Independence, LA; and sister-in-law, Sue Bess Kerbow of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and very dear friend, Patsy Elaine Greer of Coushatta, LA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Danny and Jackie Greer of Hendersonville, TN; David and Ethel Greer of Lewisburg, TN; Samuel and Glenda Greer of Bossier City, LA; and brother-in-law, Bobby Greer of South Houston, TX. She will also be missed by numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and her special friend Mary “Minnie” Bounds.
LoDee and her late husband Glenn lived in Shreveport for many years before their retirement. LoDee retired from Louisiana State University in 1994 where she worked in the medical records department. In 1996, she and her late husband moved back to Coushatta and in September 2015, a little over a year after her husband’s death, LoDee moved to Mount Hermon and made her home with her nephew and his wife, Steve and Jan Kerbow.
LoDee truly loved her Lord and dedicated many hours sharing the gift of music he had given her by playing the piano for the churches she belonged to during her lifetime. During retirement, LoDee spent many hours working in her large yard tending to her numerous flower gardens which she loved so much. She found a special joy working in the dirt and creating something beautiful. LoDee was very talented in many ways and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, painting, decoupage, sewing, and ceramics.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Liberty Cemetery, Martin, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 10:40 A.M. on Wednesday at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, Louisiana.
