Joetta Pierce Williams Burris, age 94 and a resident of Franklinton, died at 6 pm Friday August 3, 2018. She was a member of Frist Baptist Church of Franklinton where she was formerly active with the Senior Singers, the Merry Hearts and also attended the Gleaners Sunday school class. Joetta was a graduate of the Franklinton High School Class of 1941 who enjoyed bowling and loved to travel. She was also a member of the Franklinton Garden Club and loved to tend to her flowers. Joetta cherished the time spent with her family and was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survived by: 5 Children and Spouses: Frances and Robert Stogner of Denham Springs, Gordon and Pam Williams of Ruston, Beverly and Richard Harris of Pride, Alan Williams of Franklinton, Sybil and Michael Daniel of Murfreesboro, TN; Sister: Carrol Melone of Oklahoma; Brother: Henry Pierce, Jr. of Zachary ; Step-Children and Spouses: Bill and Jeannie Burris of Franklinton, Lynn and Rusty Bourgoyne of Clinton; 8 Grandchildren; 17 Great-grandchildren; 2 Great-great-grandchildren; 6 Step-grandchildren; 8 Step-great-grandchildren; Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by husbands Frank G. Williams and Joe H. Burris and parents Henry Slidle Pierce and Katie Lea Pierce.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Franklinton on Monday August 6th from 10 am until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2 pm Monday with Rev. Joey Miller and Rev. Jay Advance officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
