The STPSO Narcotics Task Force, which is composed of detectives from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mandeville Police Department and Slidell Police Department, strategically collaborated with multiple sources of information, conducted countless hours of surveillance and interviewed numerous subjects to target the illegal use and distribution of methamphetamine.
These investigations revealed that the methamphetamine seized was not manufactured in St. Tammany Parish, but rather it is being brought in from foreign countries in large quantities.
“The St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force has received positive feedback from the residents of these local communities,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “Methamphetamine is a dangerous and addictive drug that destroys lives and families” he added.
So far, the investigations have netted 29 arrests, many of which included narcotics or weapons offenses.
