Mattie Elizabeth Mingo
August 28, 1918 - July 07, 2018



Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Mingo was born August 28, 1918 to the late Johnny and Pearlie Mingo. In her early twenties she was wed in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Lawrence M. Spikes, Sr. and to this union there were six children. After their separation and divorce in 1958,  She  married to the late Mr. J.D. Mingo and to this union two children were born.
She was a member of Center Baptist Church in Angie, LA for over 70 years, where she was a choir member, usher, and member of the Eastern Stars. She also gave her heart by caring for her Aunt, her mother-in-law and nephew until God called them home.
On July 7 at 2:00PM the Lord called her home and she went peacefully in her sleep at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Delester and Cleopatra Mingo.
She leaves to morn her four sons and a daughter, Johnny Reel, Annette Spikes of Bogalusa, LA, Joe Nathan (Donna) Spikes of Angie, LA, William J. Spikes of Angie, LA, Delester/Cleopatra Mingo of Bogalusa, LA; Arnetta Mingo of Angie, LA and a host of grands, great grands, great great grands and great great great grands, nieces, nephews, and a special sister-in-law, Delores Mingo.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Pearl E. Spikes Robinson, and two sons, L.C. Amos Spikes, Sr. and Lawrence M. Spikes, Jr.
Visitation is set for Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 9:30 am to 1pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm.
