Obituary

Harold Sumrall
August 16, 1937 - June 29, 2018



Funeral services for Mr. Harold Sumrall, 80, of Tylertown, will be held at 11 A.M on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Crystal Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Stevens officiating.  Burial will be in the Crystal Springs Cemetery in Dexter.
Mr. Sumrall passed away at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Friday, June 29, 2018.  He was born August 16, 1937 in Pine, Louisiana to the late Seth Barnes and Sallie Mildred Polk Sumrall.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister Cecil Glynn Simmons and nephews Jamie Stogner, and Blandon Sorrell.
He was a member of Crystal Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School director.  He had served in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 392.  He was a truck driver for Gaylord in Bogalusa, Louisiana and had served as vice-president and president of his local union.  He enjoyed watching baseball, reading, fishing, hunting, private plane flying, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Patricia Owens Sumrall; son Kevin (Sherry) Sumrall; grandchildren Sam Sumrall and Kyle Sumrall; sister-in-law Sedonia Sorrell; nieces Janet Vince and Michelle Owens; and nephews Durwin Sorrell, Colin Sorrell, Tim Owens, and Mark Owens.
Pallbearers will be Scott Luper, Randy Sumrall, Wayne Baughman, Jimmy Lowery, Shelton Stogner, and Bill Sartin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Crystal Springs Men’s Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be at Crystal Springs Baptist Church on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time there at 11:00 A.M.
Hartman-Hughes Capps Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
