Franklinton Police Chief Releases July Stats

Franklinton Police Chief Olander Smith provided a report of his department's activities at the Franklinton Board of Aldermen meeting on July 24, 2018. Information provided is actually inclusive of June 26 to July 23 of 2018. The report reflected a total of 541 Calls for Service (down from 723 in June), divided into the headings of Public Assistance, Traffic, and Criminal Patrol.

Responses for Public Assistance included general complaints (189), extra patrols (36), medical calls (19), alarms (50), and suspicious persons or vehicles (30).

Traffic activity included traffic stops (20), vehicle crashes (15), hit and runs (1), reckless operation (1), DWI (1), and citations (46).

Criminal Patrol responses included disturbances (14), fights (1), simple battery (2), criminal damage to property (4), burglaries (1), theft and shoplifting (16), narcotics (0). Officers made 29 total arrests.

Chief Smith also reported that Corporal Jared Stubbs was promoted to Sergeant, Ernie Corkern was hired, and requested Aldermen for approval and was approved to hire Justin Stogner.
