Arrest Made in Hit and Run that Killed Slidell Woman

This is an update to our story from yesterday (July 6, 2018).
Last night (July 6, 2018), Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L arrested Ray Louis Clark (33) of Slidell for the hit and run crash that killed Sandra Duet Royer (42) of Slidell on Thursday (July 5, 2018).
Troopers had determined that around 9:29 pm on July 5th, Royer was wearing an orange safety vest and riding a Huffy mountain style bicycle equipped with a white light on the front and a red reflector on the rear of the bike. Royer was struck from behind by a dark colored Chevrolet/GMC pickup or SUV. Royer was ejected from the bicycle and sustained severe injuries. She was transported to Ochsner Medical Center-Northshore, where she ultimately succumbed to injuries.
Troopers had received information from a concerned citizen that led to the location of a black 1999 Chevrolet Silverado on Walnut Street in Slidell and the identification of Clark. The vehicle was located less than one mile from the scene of the crash and had been hidden behind a fenced in area.
