WP Council Hears Positive Riverside Medical Center Report

Riverside Medical Center CEO Peter Sullivan appeared before the Washington Parish Council Monday evening (June 11, 2018) with a report of financial improvements at RMC.  Sullivan reported that, while RMC finished 2016 with a loss of $1.76 million, the hospital ended 2017 in the black by about $800,000. The financial audit has been completed and will presented at the RMC board meeting on June 25, 2018. Sullivan also reported on facilities expansion, that physicians are serving more patients, and that RMC is changing their ER management group. (See the video beginning 7:00 into the meeting)
In other business, the Council

• introduced ordinances to change polling locations (see separate article)
• heard from and provided answers to a resident with road and other problems in her subdivision
• introduced an ordinance to accept Pine Cone Lane as a parish road
• approved a resolution of support for local museums
• were advised by Financial Director Donna Graham that the 2017 audit is complete and a report will be provided to the Council on June 25, 2018
• received reports from Public Works Director Ken Wheat and Road Supervisor Donnell Merritt (beginning at 25:15 into the meeting)
