Margie L Mack
August 24, 1922 - June 10, 2018



And God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away - Revelations 21:4
Sister Margie Mack was born September 24, 1922 to the late Henry and Arnette Butler. She was one of thirteen children born through this vision. In the late 50’s, Sister Mack was united in matrimony to her late husband, Clyde Horton and to this union nine sons were born. After the death of her first husband she married the late Iley Mack and to this union one daughter, Rosa Mack was born. She was a native of Kentwood, LA.
Sister Mack loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Mount Hermon, LA under the leadership of the late J.R. Vernon and later under the leadership of Willard Vernon for over 40 years. For the next 40 plus years she continued her faithfulness by joining Bible Way COGIC in Ferndale (Magnolia), LA until her demise.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and confidant. Under the leadership of the late Clyde Ross she served on the Pastor’s aide, Building fund and Pastor’s Anniversary committee. She also was one of the singers in the Butler Sister’s Quartet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Arnette Butler; husbands Iley Mack and Clyde Horton; sons, Clyde Jr., John, James, Jerry, Walter Lee, Howard and Larry Horton; five brothers, R.G., J.C., Panky James, Dock and Emory Butler; one sister, Marie Caston and granddaughter, Catina Horton.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Rosa Mack (Lionel), two sons, Hercules Horton of Dallas, TX and Roosevelt Horton of Tallulah, LA; two stepdaughters Merfalene (Wilton) Jackson and Diane (Jerry) Smith of Tylertown, MS; four sisters, Roselean Dickerson, Evelyn (David) Horton, Geraldine (Paul) Carter of Slidell, LA, Maudine Parrott of Gonzales, LA; two brothers, Alsee (Ella) Butler of Biloxi, MS; Henry Butler, Jr., of Kentwood, LA and a faithful, helpful and special granddaughter, Paris Mack and a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bible Way Church of God and Christ – 1073 Pleasant Drive, Magnolia, MS.
Funeral services will also be Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Way Church of God and Christ – 1073 Pleasant Drive, Magnolia, MS. With Superintendent Speady R. Ross, Pastor officiating. Interment will be at Butler Cemetery in Kentwood, LA. 
Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
