Greensburg Resident Killed in Crash on LA 43

Saturay afternoon (May 5, 2018), Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a single vehicle crash on LA 43 that claimed the life of Greensburg resident Sylvia Wright (60).
Troopers determined that Wright was travelling northwest on LA 43 and failed to negotiate a curve. She ran off the road to the right, over-corrected to the left, over-corrected to the right, and ran off the road again to the right. Her vehicle rotated counter-clockwise, overturned several times, and struck a tree, and came to rest on its roof. Despite being properly restrained, Wright sustained severe injuries in the crash. She was transported to the Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, by Acadian Air Med in critical condition.
Troop L was later notified by Our Lady of the Lake that Mrs. Wright had succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.
