George Hollis Corkern

George Hollis Corkern, age 76 of Bogalusa and Sandy Hook passed away at Lakeview Regional Medical Center on April 17, 2018.
He served for 20 years in the US Army, US Army Reserve, and Louisiana Army National Guard as special warfare, a mechanic, a supply sergeant and a medic. He will best be remembered as a loving father and loyal friend, who had a kind and gentle spirit and a willingness to help and serve others.
He is survived by his five children, Tushanna Boaz, George Lester Corkern, Billy Ray Corkern, Natasha Williams, and Danielle Wilson, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, and numerous cherished family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Dwayne Corkern, his parents Martha Ellen and Lester Corkern of Isabel, LA, and ten siblings.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, with military honors.at a later date.
