Obituary

Lynn Armand
September 13, 1944 - April 14, 2018



LYNN MERRICK ARMAND, AGE 73 and a resident of Mt. Hermon died Saturday night April 14, 2018 at his home. He was a native of Marksville before joining the United States Marine Corps after high school. Lynn served his country from 1961 until 1966 and later was a proud member of the American Legion Post 24 in Bogalusa. Following his years in the Marine Corps, he moved to Washington Parish where he began a career with the Franklinton Police Department. Lynn served as Police Chief for the majority of his 36 year tenure before retiring. He also worked with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for several years as a deputy and detective. Lynn was the owner of the Franklinton Cleaners for many years and also owned Granny’s Bait Shop and two different donut shops in town. Upon retirement, Lynn also started a business providing bulldozer and heavy equipment work throughout the parish. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching old western movies.
Survived by: 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Kenneth and Karon Armand of Franklinton, Wayne and Christine Armand of Santa Fe, TX, Merrick Armand of Lake Charles; 3 Grandchildren: Austin Armand, Chelsea Armand, Cody Armand; Brother and Sister in law: Al and Kiyoko Armand of Baton Rouge; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Sandra and L.D. Laborde, Donna Martin all of Marksville; Also several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie Armand and Hilda Norman Armand and a brother Steve Armand.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Wednesday April 18th from 10 am until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm Wednesday with Chaplin Paul Corse. Burial will follow in the J.C. Tarver Family Cemetery.
Pallbears will be Franklinton Police Department and Washington Parish Sheriff Office
