In addition, Patrolman First Class James Harper was presented a Life-Saving Award by Chief Smith and Sargeant William Manning. On December 18, 2017, Smith performed life-saving procedures, that included CPR, on a female who had no signs of breathing or pulse. She was taken to Riverside Medical Center where she was revived.
