Obituary

Burnettie Crain Toney
June 19, 1932 - March 15, 2018



BURNETTIE CRAIN TONEY, AGE 85 and a resident of Pine died early Thursday morning March 15, 2018 at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church where she often played the piano during services. She also loved singing with the church choir and enjoyed listening to gospel music. Burnettie had a real love for flowers and she enjoyed working in her flower garden. She had worked at Bennie’s Garden Center for over 30 years, arranging and delivering flowers throughout the area. Burnettie was an excellent cook, especially her special gumbo and delicious tomato gravy and biscuits. She was always a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that loved taking care of her family.
Survived by: Husband of 67 years: L.E. Toney of Pine; Sons and Daughters in law: James “Jim” and Viviana Toney of Pine, Tommy and Gail Toney of Lacombe; 2 Grandchildren and Spouses: Jennifer and Mike Beninato of Varnado, William Scott Toney and April Toney of Pine; 6 Great-grandchildren and a Spouse: Anna Beninato, Will Toney, Grayson Toney, Hannah and Blake Devall, Haley Jacobs, Hayden Jacobs; 1 Great-great-grandchild: Evelynn Devall; Sister and Brother in law: Juanita and Johnny Ramshur of Pine; Sister in law: Nell Crain of Pine; Also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Will and Sudie Crain, a young sister Maudine Crain, sister Gladys Kennedy and brother Benard Crain.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday March 16th from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday at Pine Missionary Baptist Church from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 am Saturday with Bro. Glen Stuart and Bro. Adam Luper officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.
