Grady Allred
November 4, 1917 - March 18, 2018

WILLIAM GRADY ALLRED, AGE 100 and a resident of Franklinton died at 7:25 am Sunday March 18, 2018 at his daughter’s home. He was born November 4, 1917 in Taos, New Mexico but spent nearly all of his long life in Louisiana. Grady was a member of Stateline United Pentecostal Church that enjoyed farming. His favorite hobbies were fishing, trapping and hunting. He was a tremendous trapper of all types of small game and often sold the animals to help support his large family. Grady just loved being outdoors in God’s beautiful nature. He was always a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: William Grady Allred, Jr. and Patsy Ann Allred of Franklinton, Michael Paul and Tina Allred of Ferriday; 5 Daughters and Sons in law: Ophelia Sorahan of Greely, CO, Patricia Ann and Jimmy D. Marlette of Star City, AR, Sarah Irene and R.W. Roy of Springdale, AR, Meldaisy and W.L. Tullos, Janice Marie Hudson all of Franklinton; 24 Grandchildren; 45 Great-grandchildren; 4 Great-great-grandchildren; Brother: Leonard Allred of Jackson, LA; Sister: Telois Miles of Berryville, AR; Also numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Ruth Matthews Allred, daughter Laura Rose Watts, granddaughter Laradonna Young, parents James Allen Allred and Maude Ophelia Hood Allred, brother James Allen “Junior” Allred, Jr., sisters Ruth Irene Barksdale and Nadine Ophelia Alford.
Visitation will be at Stateline Pentecostal Church Thursday March 22nd from 10 am until 1 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1 pm Thursday with Rev. Brandon Wilkins and Rev. Darren Burnthorn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
