Poplarville Man Arrested as Flea Market Theft Suspect

Calvin Joseph Dubois (28) of Poplarville is in the Washington Parish Jail for theft from a flea market on Highway 21 south of Bogalusa.
On January 31, the owner of the flea market reported the theft and provided WPSO  detectives with video of the suspected thief as he wandered through the business. A photo of the suspect was lifted from the video and distributed to Washington Parish officers.
The next morning, WPSO Detective Kody Glenn was leaving his Bogalusa dentist’s office when he spotted Dubois at a stop sign. He quickly apprehended Dubois and placed him in the Washington Parish Jail.
Sheriff Randy Seal commented. “This is a case of Dubois being in the wrong place at the right time. It was the wrong place for him and the right place for the business owner and the Sheriff’s Office. I congratulate Detective Glenn for being alert and bringing this investigation to a quick conclusion. This is another example of the importance of business owners having a video surveillance system.”
