Linda Cupp
April 6, 1943 - February 15, 2018



LINDA KELLEY CUPP, age 74 and a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday afternoon February 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. She also served as a Sunday school teacher, church secretary and music director. Linda felt called to lead many Bible study groups through the years and dearly loved her church family. She was retired from Dairyman, Inc. as the Lab supervisor after 27 years of dedicated service. Linda then worked with the Louisiana Department of Child Services for 10 years. For the last several years, she enjoyed working as a substitute teacher at several area schools. She really loved getting to know the younger students, who all affectionately called her “Maw Maw Cupp”. Linda enjoyed tending to her many plants and had a special place in her heart for her pet Jack Russell Terrier Boo. Her favorite hobby, however, was spending quality time with her family and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by: 4 Daughters and Sons in law: Deanna Myers and fiancé Jimmy Helton, Debra and Ricky Byrd, Dana Gerald, Denise and Mike Gilmore all of Franklinton; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: David and Harriet Cupp of Franklinton,
Derald and Rachel Cupp of Navarre, FL; 14 Grandchildren and Spouses: Michelle and Patrick Penton, Misty Bickham and fiancé Matt Polk, Casey and Kimberly Byrd, Melany and Johnny Rochester, Amanda Hall, Allen Dupre III, Kristal Simmons, Meagan Gilmore, Mallory Gilmore, Tanner Westmoreland, Kristina and Brad Ladner, Madelyn Cupp, Jay Cupp, Timmy Cupp; 39 Great-grandchildren; Sister: Margie McDonald of Alexandria; Also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband off 44 years Rev. Jerald J. Cupp, parents Aubrey Kelley and Vera Walker Kelley, sons in law Alton Gerald and Ray Myers, 4 sisters, 3 brothers and a special friend Mary Ratcliff.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday February 16th from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 am Saturday with Rev. Stan Statham, Rev. Frederick Brumfield and Rev. Clay Spinks officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
