Franklinton PD Fugitive Arrest Results in Additional Drug Charges

On February 24, 2018, Franklinton Police Department PFC Barry Galloway observed Alvester Thomas of Franklinton, an individual who was known to have an outstanding felony warrant with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office. Officer Galloway conducted a traffic stop on Thomas.
When Officer Galloway approached the vehicle he detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Thomas was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant. Officer Galloway also observed marijuana (Blunt) in plain sight. After other Officers arrived, Officer Galloway conducted a search of the vehicle where several packages of suspected marijuana, powder cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin were concealed inside the vehicle.
Thomas was additionally charged with being a Fugitive from another Jurisdiction; Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule II Crack Cocaine; Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule II powder Cocaine; Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I Heroin and Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I Marijuana.
