Glenda Pierce Montgomery
November 26, 1938 - November 30, 2017



O
n Thursday, November 30, 2017, God sent his Angels to 1423 North Royal Street in Bogalusa, La, to claim the soul of Glenda Pierce Montgomery. Her battle with sickness came to an end when God said it is done, I am Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end.
She was born on November 26, 1938 to the late Mr. and Mr. Steve (Mollie Crain) Pierce in Bogalusa, LA. Glenda had a genuine love for her family and friends. She was a kind gentile, generous, and caring person; as well as a good friend. She never met a stranger. When she walked in the room she would light it up with her laughter and her one lady conversations (you were never able to say anything.) Her favorite companion was her puppy, “titi”
She was united in Holy matrimony to Oliver Montgomery.
At Thirkield United Methodist Church she was a dedicated faithful member always present at every service until her health failed. She loved the Lord and her church family. She was delighted in serving on the usher board, communion steward, lay speaker also a member of the United women where she had the position of membership secretary for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Montgomery, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Mollie Crain) Pierce; five sisters, Irma Pierce, Bolton Kaigler, Myrtle Marie Pierce, Doris Janita Pierce, Hilda Gretchen Pierce, Rodgers and Shirley E. Pierce; two nephews Steve and Emmitt Rodgers.
She leaves to cherish her memories her nephew, Kenneth R. (Barbara) Pierce of Bogalusa, LA; niece Barbara (Richard) Smith of Lansing, Michigan; two devoted nieces Jerri (Joe) McClure of Lansing, MI and Ollisteen Peyton of Sontag, MS. Two special friends, Celeste (Jerome) Young and Debra Smith of Bogalusa, LA. A special little cousin, Damion (DJ) Moss of Baton Rouge, LA; brother-in-law Reverend R.E. (Care) Montgomery of Chicago, IL. Three sisters in-law, Della Chism and Loretta Patterson of Denver, CO., and Ollie Simmons of Sontag, MS and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2017 from 2 pm to 7 pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 am at Thirkield United Methodist Church in Bogalusa.
