Richard Lane Holmes, II
March 12, 1977 - November 30, 2017


RICHARD LANE HOLMES, II AGE 40 and a resident of Franklinton died Thursday evening November 30, 2017. He was a former offshore worker that later worked in construction and maintenance for many years. Richard was also a good mechanic and was very talented working with his hands in anything that he did. He enjoyed fishing and loved family Bar-B-Ques and gatherings. He always had a big joyful smile, a contagious laugh and kind spirit.
Survived by: 2 Sons: Connor Lane Holmes, Jonah Lavon Holmes both of Franklinton; Daughter: Caroline Nevaeh Holmes of Franklinton; Mother: Patricia Ann Barber of Franklinton; Father: Richard Lane Holmes of Franklinton; Grandfather: Willis Barber of Franklinton; 3 Brothers and Sisters in law: Timothy and Daphne Phelps, Danny and Sherri Phelps, Yancy Holmes all of Franklinton; Sister and Brother in law: Rachel and Randall Barron of Braxton, MS; Nephews: Jacob Phelps, Jordan Phelps, Zachary Holmes; Nieces: Alyssa Phelps, Addyson Phelps; Longtime Companion: Cynthia Magee; Mother of his son Connor: Tabitha Crain; Also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother Minnie B. Barber and grandparents Edward and Lucille Holmes.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday December 3rd from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 9 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Duane Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek.
