Two Arrested in Ponchatoula on Gun and Drug Charges

Ponchatoula Police Department and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted each other on an incident which led to the arrest of Dylan Jordan (18) and Christian Harrell (17) for multiple drug-related charges and possession of stolen firearms.
On November 19, 2017, a citizen called PPD regarding a strong smell of marijuana coming from a vehicle that recently left the Walmart parking lot. Ponchatoula officers located the vehicle at the Circle K gas station just west of the interstate. Ponchatoula officers began to identify the occupants as the TPSO arrived to assist with their K-9 unit. With the help of the K-9, officers retrieved large amounts of marijuana, money, and firearms. Once the search was completed, the incident was turned over to the Sheriff’s Office.
Jordan was charged with Possession of Schedule IV Drugs, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs, Possession of Firearms while Possessing CDS, and Possession of Stolen Firearm. Harrell was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs, Possession of Firearms while Possessing CDS, and 2 Counts of Possession of Stolen Firearm.
