Shooting in Bogalusa Last Saturday

On Saturday, October 28th at 11:10 pm, the Bogalusa Police Department received a 911 call about a shooting on Martin Luther King Drive near Charlevoix Street.
According to witnesses, the victim and several other people were sitting around a fire when the suspect walked up and shot the victim one time. The bullet traveled through the victim's left hand and then into his abdomen. The victim was transported by a passer-by vehicle to Our Lady of Angles Hospital for his injuries.
Witnesses stated that the shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation between the victim and the suspect. The victim was later transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet.
The BPD Detective Division is looking at a person of interest in this case.
