Jesse Ladner
March 03, 1957 - November 13, 2017



Jesse Ladner, age 60 and a resident of Bogalusa, passed away November 13, 2017. He was born in Columbia, MS. Jesse Earl Ladner, a well-known honorable man of Bogalusa. He spent most, if not all his life working hard, loving people and affecting anyone he came into contact with. Most of all, his priority was his family. He faithfully was a loving devoted husband to Juanita (Pat) Ladner. He never let a day go by he didn’t help whomever needed him. A devoted father to his only son, Travis Ladner and an awesome grandfather to his grandchildren Travis Ladner, Jr., Tia Ford, and Treavor Ford of Baton Rouge, LA. Jesse Earl Ladner was a family oriented, reliable, free spirited, full of life, and a humble man.
Jesse Earl Ladner, a man of Wisdom, loved to cook. He loved cooking coon and bragging how good it was. He also loved having a debate with his son who made the best potato salad. He didn’t like being called “Old Head” to make him move faster.
Jesse Earl Ladner was indeed a Special Remarkable Man that was family oriented and brought joy and happiness to any function. He was full of energy and a Blessing to all he knew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Myrtis Harris and Maurice Ladner; two brothers, Laverne Ladner and Christopher Harris; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Magee Rogers; father-in-law, Charlie Richard Jr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his lifelong best friend of 40 years his loving wife, Juanita (Pat) Ladner; one son, Travis (Tracey) Ladner of Dallas, TX; and three grandchildren, Travis Ladner, Jr. of Bogalusa, LA, Tia Ford Baton Rouge, LA, and Treavor Ford New Orleans, LA; seven sisters, Gloria Ladner, Lovie (Ronald) Torregano, Aline Siles, Hazel Harrington, Christine (Ralph) Graves, Helen Riley, of Covington, LA, and Rosie Lee McGowen; four brothers, Clarence Harris, Ladell Ladner, M. L. Ladner of Mt. Hermon, LA, and Tommy L. Silas of Mississippi; four sisters- in-law, Pallie Dorsey of Atlanta, GA, Marcella (Barry) Baines of Tyler, TX, Marie Ladner of Bogalusa, LA, Gayle Harris of Folsom, LA; four brothers-in-law, James Dorsey, Jr, of New Orleans, LA, Allen Dee (Treneatta) Magee of Houston, TX, Felton (Ruth) Magee of Houma, LA, and Alfonzo (Debra) Magee of Bogalusa, LA; two special aunts Bonnie J. Robinson of Chicago, IL, and Rosie Mae Magee of Columbia, MS; a best friend, Clarence Crawford of New Berry Port, MASS ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom called him Uncle Jesse.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Allen Temple Church of God & Christ in Bogalusa from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service.
