Two Slidell Men and one from Pearl River County, Ms. Have been jailed after the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, in combination with the state fire marshal’s office, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Lamar County Swat Team, averted an alleged attempt to intentionally set a home on fire.
The case began with a tip that Don Osbourn (54), a Pearl River County resident, enlisted the help of two men to burn the unidentified home down on Oct. 11, 2017. A team of investigators set up surveillance on the residence on October 11th and, just before 8 pm, they observed a suspect, later identified of Mikell Milling (43) of Slidell emerge from a shed near the home. Milling, who was wearing a gorilla mask, climbed onto the roof and poured flammable liquids through a vent pipe into the attic.  At that point, Milling was taken into custody.
The investigation determined that Osbourn hired Milling to burn the home and Joseph Gilley (43) of Slidell was also involved in the plot. Osbourn was arrested later on the night of October 11th and Gilley was picked up October 12th in St. Tammany Parish on a warrant.
