Obituary

Leonard Parker
November 10, 1924 - October 28, 2017



Samuel Leonard Parker, Jr., age 92, a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Rest Haven Living Center. Born November 10, 1924, he was a retired typesetter and press operator for the Bogalusa Daily News. A member of First Baptist Church and former member of the Lions Club, Jeans and Queens Square Dance Club, Bogalusa Country Club, Lumberjack Club, and Senior Center Luncheon Group.
He is survived by his son Anthony (Minnie) Parker of Mendenhall, MS, five grandchildren, nine great grand-children, nieces and nephews, his friends Rosemary Earles, and Roland Parker and family of Eastern Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Isabelle Parker, his brother George Parker, his sister Imogene Gatzman, and his daughter Diana Feierabend.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home until time of service at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Bogalusa or to the American Heart Association.
