Robert Louis Bennett, Sr.
December 30, 1951 - October 6, 2017



ROBERT LOUIS BENNETT, SR., age 65 and a resident of Stateline Community, died early Friday morning October 6, 2017 at his home. He had a very friendly and playful personality and always enjoyed playing tricks and picking on his family and friends. Robert was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and he loved watching football. He also loved old muscle cars and had a weakness for ice cream, his favorite being orange dream.
Survived by: 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Robert Bennett, Jr. and Rachel Bennett of Covington, Scott Bennett of Franklinton; 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Kristal Bennett Bonner and Shawn Bonner of Wylie, TX, Jessica Bennett LeMaire and Gavin LeMaire of the Stateline Community; 15 Grandchildren: Kyle Bennett, Kody Bennett, Kayla Bennett and her fiancé Anthony Kephart, Jordan Bennett, Savannah Bennett, Dale Bennett, Marcus Bonner, Joshua Bonner, Caleb LeMaire, Zach LeMaire, Lucas LeMaire, Leigha LeMaire, Maci Terrebone, Molly Terrebone, Kamryn Bennett; 4 Great-grandchildren: Zoey Bennett, Aiden Kephart, Colston Kephart, Elaine Bennett; 2 Expected great-grandchildren; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: Raymond and Lena Bennett of Franklinton, Billy and Debbie Bennett of Magnolia, MS; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Lillian and Curtis Blankenship of Loranger, Diane Noble of Florida; Former Wife, Caretaker and longtime friend: Joyce Bennett of the Stateline Community; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Darwin Bennett, Sr. and Vernal Rogers Bennett and brothers J.C. Bennett and Darwin Bennett, Jr.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday October 12th from 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Donnie Broom officiating. Per his wishes, Robert will be cremated following the services.
