Billy Ray Goings
February 20, 1961 - October 2, 2017


BILLY RAY GOINGS, age 56 and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died at 12:50 am Monday morning October 2, 2107 at his home. He was a longtime iron worker and an employee of South Steele for well over 30 years. He was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. Billy Ray enjoyed fishing and loved to coon hunt. He also loved to work in his vegetable garden and enjoyed watching his sons or grandsons play baseball.
Survived by: Wife: Dorothy Goings of Mt. Hermon; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: B.J. and Amanda Goings of Kentwood, Alan Goings of Mt. Hermon; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Helen and Len Garner of Hammond, Alaina Goings of Mt. Hermon; 5 Grandchildren: Morgan Goings, Kailey Kieff, Baylor Goings, Noah Cline, Kohl Garner; 3 Brothers and a Sister in law: Felder Goings of Mt. Hermon, Paul Goings of Tylertown, MS, Ronald and Jackie Goings of Kentwood; 3 Sisters and Brothers in law: Thelma and J.W. Bryant of Franklinton, Cathy Spears of Osyka, MS, Debbie and Rip Rohner of Kentwood; Special Friend: Don Slaven of Mt. Hermon; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents AT Goings and Christine Barber Goings, brother Lonnie Goings, sister Frances Thomas, brothers in law Nollie Thomas, Buster Spears and sisters in law Jean Goings, Linda Goings.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday October 3rd from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church from 10 am until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2 pm Wednesday with Rev. Danny Smith and Rev. Calvin Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
