Pear River County Sheriff's Office Deputy Bo Penton was on patrol near Highway 43 North on August 21, when he saw a vehicle being driven in a careless manner, prompting a stop as the vehicle turned onto Liberty Road, Sheriff David Allison said.
While Penton spoke with the driver, identified as Leah Bunn (41) of Bogalusa and the passenger identified as Clint Walters (26) of Bogalusa, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, Allison said.
Both suspects were detained and narcotics investigators were called to the scene. During the search of the vehicle, investigators found Adderall, suboxone, Xanax, marijuana and some drug paraphernalia, leading Bunn to be arrested for three counts of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia. Walters was arrested for possession of paraphernalia, Allison said.
