Theft Suspect Eludes Slidell Police

Yesterday (September 19, 2017), Slidell Police began searching for a man who was allegedly stealing from Home Depot, fled from SPD officers, drove his truck into the lake, swam across the lake, and ran across the I-59 interstate. At last report, the suspect has not been caught.He was last seen in the area of Brownswitch Road/Robert Road extension/Interstate 59/Lincoln Road/Dean Road
Police report they are “pretty certain we know who he is and he will ultimately be caught. This individual is believed to be part of a very large theft ring, possibly in the amount of up to a quarter million dollars.”
The suspect is described as a white male, skinny, 6 ft. in height, wearing a long sleeve grey shirt and grey shorts, and wearing no shoes. He was driving a dark colored GMC pick-up with Alabama license plates.
