The Next Ice Age or Hwy. 3241 - Which Will Come First?

Source: SARA PAGONES - THEADVOCATE.COM
An article in The New Orleans Advocate (Click here to read it) reports on Tuesday (September 19, 2017), Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson outlined pending projects in St. Tammany Parish.
The article reported that, included in that outline was “a north-south highway from I-12 to Bush that was first proposed nearly 50 years ago. He said that Gov. John Bel Edwards has asked him to make building the highway, which Wilson described as mandated by the state constitution, a priority.”
But the article goes on to say that “Louisiana has $13.4 billion in unmet highway needs and an additional $15 billion in projects that officials want to see built, the transportation secretary said. But the department is working with an annual budget of just $600 million a year. “ Wilson also predicted that funding will become more difficult in the future.
Sooo, don't get too excited because kicking the 3241 can on down the road seems likely and may get further delayed by the coming of the next ice age.
