STPSO Make Arrest in Airport Road Homicide

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Cesar Roy Ronaldo Rivas Castillo (37) early this morning (September 22, 2017) on the charge of Second Degree Murder for the homicide that occurred Tuesday night (September 19, 2017) on Airport Road north of Covington. Deputies has responded to a vehicle in a ditch and found one occupant in the vehicle with injuries not consistent with the crash. An autopsy revealed the victim died of a gunshot wound to the head.
STPSO investigators have been working with ICE and believe that both the victim and the suspect are undocumented immigrants. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was a Hispanic male in his late 30’s.
“Having started this case with no leads and no apparent suspects and then having it solved with an arrest in under 48 hours is a testament to the abilities and determination of the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives,” said Sheriff Randy Smith.
