STPSO K-9 Aids Picayune PD Catch Fugitive

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s K-9 Division helped to apprehend a fugitive Thursday, aiding our partners in Mississippi.
Picayune Police Department requested assistance from the STPSO in a pursuit that originated in their jurisdiction, but crossed over into St. Tammany Parish. Picayune PD advised that the driver of the vehicle got stuck in the mud while trying to flee, abandoned the vehicle and continued to flee into the swamp on foot. 
One of our K-9 handlers responded to call for assistance and the perpetrator gave up after K-9 Marko conducted a civil apprehension on the subject. 
The subject was ultimately booked into the STPSO Jail as a fugitive awaiting extradition back to Mississippi.
