Slidell: Five “Lost” Suspects Arrested

Early this morning (August 4, 2017), Slidell Police arrested five people who were caught trying to steal a truck in the Carolyn Park Subdivision at around 3:15 am. The resident awoke and saw Robert Clarence (25) of New Orleans inside of her truck with the engine running. When Clarence saw the homeowner, he fled with four other individuals in a green Chevrolet pickup truck. 
Responding officers quickly found the suspect vehicle. The victim positively identified Clarence and the vehicle he was driving. The suspects could not give explain why they were in the neighborhood except to say they “were lost”. 
Robert Clarence (25) of New Orleans was arrested for Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Damage, Switched License Plate, Possession of Marijuana, and Driving Under Suspension. Eric VanBuren (19) of New Orleans, Lawrence Toliver (25) of Thibodeaux, Jaquan Brown (17) of Opelousas, and a 15-year-old juvenile from New Orleans were arrested for Principal to Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle and  Possession of Marijuana.
